Queen mask with figure on top

The Ashante are a major ethnic group from Ghana, situated on the west coast of Africa. They are a matrilineal group who's religion is a mixture of spiritual and supernatural powers.This queen mask has copper and brass inlays and is made from sese wood. The queen assists the chief of the tribe to ward off evil spirits.
